After posting the mysterious DESPERATIO DEI album yesterday I wanted to do a catch up for my favorite black metal releases released so far this year.

Towering long form black metal art from the same mind as Enevelde^

Raw black metal with hints of post-rock from Denmark. Highly recommend.

Unparalleled passion and charisma.

Thin production, the drums are almost lost in the mix - this is the true spirit of raw black metal. Love the album cover as well. 

Kommodus is one of the most promising rising acts and shows no sign of slowing down. 

Solo project of Circle of Ouroboros, Rahu, and Venus Star member.

Another extremely promising act. Very intense and energetic blackened death grind.

New project that reminds me of Nordkult Ritual/Fossbrenna Creations era Norwegian black metal. And look at that logo!
