Last week's new releases of note.

Pan American is one of the great post rock bands. Labradford member. This time around he embrraces shimmering ambience in collaboration with Kramer.

Kings of the brutal death metal genre. Not totally my thing but, respect.

I liked one Elbow track like 15 years ago and haven't thought much about them since. These old Brits have stubbled across something fresh this time around.

I think the band's reputation proceeds them.

Another artist I lost track of over the years though the "One Word Extinguisher" era was huge for me. I'm enjoying this. Four Tet and DJ Shadow vibes.

Boredoms related project of spazz-punk-psych-art-rock perfection that is both joyous and grating.

Drab Majesty side project embraces 80s goth rock.

Death metal featuring Taylor Young of Twitching Tongues/Nails. This is surprisingly very legit.

You could switch out this and the Apparition album above and I wouldn't notice. Still, solid death metal.

Majestic funeral dirges.

Gothic doom in the vein of old My Dying Bride on Iron Bonehead.

Zombi's 8th album (not counting a slew of EPs and splits). This time they merge their atmospheric sci fi synth work to Melvins-esque stoner rock.

Really great ambient/experimental/modern classical.

Norwegian dark ambient folk.

London based Chinese composer and multi-instrumentalist Li Yilei returns to Métron Records with NONAGE, their second full length release following 2021’s OF. An introspective reflection on the journey through childhood, this new work brings together samples from old Chinese TV shows, mechanical children’s toys and an array of acoustic and electronic instruments - some of which were designed and built by Li themselves.
